Delete your Matchmade account
Matchmade by Codext GmbH. On this page you can find out how to delete your account and all associated data, what is deleted and what we keep for a limited time and why. Deleting the app from your phone alone does not delete your account.
Option 1: in the app
- Open Matchmade and sign in.
- Go to You → Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and data are deleted immediately.
Option 2: by email
If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to kontakt@codext.de with the subject "Delete my Matchmade account".
- Write from the email address registered with your account.
- If you signed in with Apple, tell us the email address Apple shares with us, or the Apple relay address (ending in privaterelay.appleid.com). We will verify with you that the account is yours.
To prevent misuse, we may ask you to confirm the request. We confirm the deletion by email and delete your account within 30 days at the latest, usually within 2 business days.
Sign in with Apple
If you signed in with Apple, you can also stop using Sign in with Apple for Matchmade in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple). This alone does not delete your Matchmade account or your data. Please use option 1 or 2 as well.
What gets deleted
Immediately when you delete your account:
- your account, your email address or Apple identifier, and your sessions;
- your profile, including first name, date of birth, gender, preferences, bio, prompts, job, height, interests and location;
- your photos, including the image files on our servers;
- your conversation with Mira and your Vibe profile;
- your swipes, matches, Drops, Vibe Checks and blocks;
- your chat messages. Your messages are also removed for the people you chatted with;
- your push tokens.
Deleted data disappears from our backups within 30 days, when they are overwritten.
What we may keep, and why
- Reports about your account and a hash that identifies banned accounts, for up to 12 months. This protects other users and keeps banned people from coming back with a new account.
- Data we are required to keep by law or for an ongoing legal case or law enforcement request, only as long as necessary.
- Anonymous aggregate counts, such as the total number of members, that cannot identify you.

Deleting only some data
You do not have to delete your whole account. In the app you can delete individual photos, change or remove profile details and unmatch people. If you want us to delete specific other data, write to kontakt@codext.de and tell us what you want deleted.
